Andrea Bréard was Professor for History of Science at the Université Paris-Saclay before being awarded a Alexander von Humboldt-Professorship in 2021. Since she holds the Chair for Sinology with a Focus on the Intellectual and Cultural History of China at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Trained as a sinologist and mathematician, she works at the interface between mathematical sciences and sinology, with topics ranging from ancient China to the 21st century.
